Welcome Tom McCarthy!

We are pleased to announce that Tom McCarthy has joined Greenlight Health Data Solutions as an Advisor. With over 40 years of experience across leading carriers and reinsurance companies, including 17 years at Swiss Re, Tom brings deep underwriting experience and a wide industry network to our team. He will work with us on product development strategy and go-to-market initiatives as we continue to expand our work in the insurance industry.

Tom is well known for his continued contributions to the underwriting industry. He served as President of the Association of Home Office Underwriters (AHOU) in 2010 and was inducted into the AHOU Hall of Fame in 2015. This year he will be honored as part of AHOU’s 25th Anniversary at their annual conference in April in Austin, TX.

Throughout his career, Tom has been an advocate for technology advancement within the industry. He led many of Swiss Re’s major technology initiatives including Life Guide, FacEasy, and True Risk. Tom’s appreciation for the importance of innovation in underwriting aligns with Greenlight’s vision to make EHR data the backbone of AI-assisted underwriting in the future.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Greenlight, to help bring advanced Electronic Health Record data into the underwriting process,” said Tom. “Underwriting is poised for change in the next few years with increase in data availability and AI opportunities, and Greenlight has the EHR solutions to make this possible. Health record data from providers will always be underwriting’s true‘Gold Standard’, and Greenlight’s model will assist underwriters in timely review and assessment of EHR data.”

Tom’s experience with both carriers and reinsurance companies give him visibility into their business priorities, their workflows, and where EHR data can be leveraged to improve cycle times, risk assessment and management, and ultimately profitability. His insights will help us build better products and form meaningful relationships in the industry.

We look forward to the big things to come with Tom’s help.
